In the past Terri’s Sunflower Seed pate brought raves from many carnivores who were shocked to hear they were eating seeds and nutritional yeast. In 2010 her “Ever Living, Ever Giving” Chard Rolls were made from all live foods, including her own macadamia nut “cheese”. They were apparently a huge success for they were all gone early in the evening. In 2011 you may look forward to some new surprises from The Food Fairy, who cherishes sharing her favorite new recipes in order to support the work of The Women’s Center. In 1996, Terri was new to the area, raising 3 children alone and starting her own small business. The Women’s Center was there for her!

What is The Women’s Center? Founded in 1979, The Women’s Center serves over 6,000 women, girls and their families each year. They partner with women and girls to build their knowledge, skills and confidence to become self sufficient by providing financial literacy education, career exploration and preparedness, legal information, adolescent empowerment programs, and connections to community resources.

The Food Fairy is loving the ‘Friends of Bonobos’, a 501c3 US charity that supports the conservation and protection of bonobos in Congo, that is hosting a fundraiser to reintroduce orphaned bonobos into the wild and raise awareness of human-on-human violence in the region.

Learn more about this endangered great ape by joining ‘Friends of Bonobos ‘for an evening of delicious Congolese food, created by The Food Fairy, and outstanding African drumming—Terri will remove her apron and take a place behind her ngoma, next to her teacher and fellow drummers for the evening’s entertainment. A major highlight is a meet-and-greet with Vanessa Woods—author of the bestselling book Bonobo Handshake —and a silent auction.*
